Dr. Ma was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but his formative years were spent in West Vancouver. A graduate of The University of British Columbia, Dr. Ma obtained his B.Sc in Biopsychology. After moving to San Francisco, California, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and was in clinical practice in California until his return to Vancouver in 2008. He has been working with Dr. Lieblich since 2010.

As the field of dentistry is ever-evolving, Dr. Ma enjoys keeping up-to-date and furthering his dental knowledge and skills by often attending dental courses and seminars. Life outside the office, Dr. Ma enjoys Canucks games, travelling, sushi, and opening a great bottle of wine. He also likes cycling, going to the movies, and spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and their son, Alex.
